Why American Apples Just Got Banned in Europe

As we all know that apple is a important part of healthy diet. It will help you to whiten your teeth, curb cancers decrease your risk of diabetes reduce your cholesterol. But before all this you must know that the apple you are eating is healthy or not.

Few years ago European food safety authority begins an investigation to discover the unhealthy procedures used for food preservations and provide safety information on a substance called diphenylamine (DPA). Basically this substance is used to preserve fruits for long time. It is widely used in preservation of apple after harvest. DPA is not dangerous as such but it has ability to break down further in family of carcinogens (nitrosamines) which is something would you definitely don’t want to eat in your daily breakfast to make your diet unhealthy. In one study it was detected that three unknown chemicals.

But it cannot be claimed that these are formed as result of decay of DPA. Environmental working group told that last time in 201o when us agriculture department test the use of DPA for the preservations it was found 80 % of the sample or you can say the apple on your fruit basket is not safe for you. When environmental protection agency investigate about DPA coated apples green lights residues up to 10ppm-100 times the new European norm has not considered it as much important as they should.

So DPA coated apples are the risk to human life or not that’s question is still to be answered. To secure people for any further risk Europe has decided that they should not gobbling up DPA along their daily fruit.EWG suggests American to choose organic apples when possible.
