You know Citrus fruit has been growing in an ever-widening area since very long time; the best-known examples are the oranges, lemons, grapefruit, and limes. Citric acid is now commonly found in foods to preserve things or to give flavor. Despite being a known hidden GMO, it is found in many certified organic foods.

Massively produced citric acid and ascorbic acid are hidden GMO ingredients that cause allergic problems to some sensitive consumers mostly found in foods and drinks. Some people also suffer with stomach disorder, diarrhea, vomiting specially in summer.

What we say about those who are not allergic and did not found any negative effects but you are suffering with them slowly. Yet Citric acid is not a controversial food to be avoids but instead trending for its ability bring out more tangy tastes in popular foods. MSG and citric acid are essentially enablers to modern America’s food making even bland foods palatable and tasty regardless of the nutritional value. Giant food industry that uses it as an ingredient in practically everything benefits from the public assumptions that citric acid comes from fruit. They should find naturally a healthy way to generate it and provide a safe food to consumers.
